LeoJDRidgwell Profile

Leo JD Ridgwell

Motto: Creativity and Possibilities with technology

I graduated from Coventry University with an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Computer Science, and have since built my career across the tech industry — from Cyber Security to enterprise software engineering at CGI, and most recently as a Software Engineer II at DRE Digital.

I’ve always been fascinated by how software and electronic systems work under the hood, which is what originally drew me into computing and continues to drive me.

I am now looking for my next opportunity, ready to bring my experience in full-stack development and backend engineering to a team doing meaningful work.

Online, I’m more commonly known as “StuxieDev”.

My Experience

Working in the Computer Science / Software Engineering Industry for 8+ yrs

Over the course of 2.5 years in the Cyber Security industry, I gained valuable hands-on experience and developed essential workplace skills. This role, which was part of an apprenticeship and my first professional position, involved extensive training sessions that expanded my knowledge of cybersecurity practices and the broader IT landscape.

Prior to this, I completed various work experiences across multiple roles, including System Administrator, Web Developer, Customer Support, and Technical Support. These opportunities deepened my interest in the internal workings of electronic devices and systems, and laid the foundation for a career in software engineering.

I went on to spend over two and a half years as a Software Engineer at CGI, where I contributed to large-scale backend systems, developed my technical skillset across a range of enterprise projects, and completed a Go course to expand my backend capabilities. Most recently, I worked as a Software Engineer II at DRE Digital Ltd, building full-stack systems and AI-powered features in a fast-moving product environment.

I am currently seeking my next opportunity — bringing several years of professional software engineering experience, a strong foundation across Node.js, TypeScript, Python, and Go, and a genuine passion for building software that makes a real difference.
